This feature is now available, i.e. when clicking on an image in the editor, the image opens full-size in a new browser tab.

Is there anyway to view the full size images without leaving the test case? When reviewing large amount of test cases, each with multiple images as test results, opening the images in a new tab is more time consuming and more prone to errors as the images are not enclosed within the test case anymore.

You mean in some kind of full-screen overlay? How is that different to a new tab? The overlay has the downside that you cannot see the test case then while you can move the tab anywhere on your screen (or to another monitor)...

In this case, there's two pain points here. The first is the disconnect between which image a case relates to when opened in a new tab. This is an issue when multiple test cases or even a single case with many steps are being review, and causes a great deal of confusion. The second issue is that it takes longer to deal with closing a new tab compared to using a lightbox within a page. While not much in a single instance, this builds up after reviewing 100s images across dozens of tests. Alternatively, allowing the image to respect the zoom level on a page would help.

I'm happy to tell you that we were able to quickly implement a lightbox-effect for images, both in editor text, comments and attachments. This update will be shipped with the upcoming feature release.
