the Gitlab issue description contains a link to the testiny Test case that failed but the gitalb defect opened by testiny does not apply the template. When the user logins to Gitalb and applies the template to the defect the description is removed.
Is there a way to have testiny open the defect using the template so the link is not removed?

We investigated that issue, but unfortunately with GitLab one can only specify either a description or a description template when creating an issue. In other words, you cannot adapt the description if creating an issue from a description template.
Sorry about that! You will unfortunately need to stick with copy & paste until GitLab templates get a bit more flexible…
