Include only failed steps in a Jira defect

I have a test case that has 8 steps.

As you can see steps #3 and #4 failed, I added a comment to each and was unable to continue my test so I created a defect. I clicked the two checkboxes to add the steps and comments to the Jira ticket, but once in Jira I see that all the steps have been added without indication of which ones passed/failed/didn’t run and the comments are all together at the bottom without any reference as to which step they belong to.

Is there a way that only the steps up until the one that failed are included in Jira, so as to guide other QAs or the developer working on the issue up until the point where the bug was found instead of the full list of steps? And additionally, it’d be great if the comments left on a step are displayed right beneath the step/result instead of at the end like they are now.

Thanks for the suggestions!

Unfortunately, there’s currently no way to only include steps until the first failed steps.

I added a feature request to our roadmap that we should add the result of steps to the created summary and also indicated for comments which steps they belong to.

And I moved the topic to the App Feedback category to allow others to vote for this feature. Thanks!

Best regards,
Alex
