Unable to click on links or embed videos inside exported PDF report

Hello,

We’re experiencing an issue with the PDF reports generated from Testiny. When we add a video link (for example, a cloud link or internal file server link) inside a test case field or comment, the link is not clickable in the exported PDF. This makes it difficult for our developers to access the video evidence used during manual testing.

Also, we haven’t found any way to embed a video or even show a clickable thumbnail within the PDF report.

Is this a known behavior?
Has anyone encountered this issue and found a workaround?
Is there a recommended way to make video links usable or improve video accessibility inside the PDF?

Thanks in advance!

Hi and welcome to the forum!

Do you put a link to a video inside the comment/test case field or do you upload the video itself to Testiny?

External links should be clickable in the PDF. Which PDF reader do you use? (I couldn’t reproduce it with Firefox, Chrome and Edge built-in PDF readers.)

For links to attachments inside Testiny, please make sure that you’ve enabled links to be clickable in the report settings:

Also, the user must be logged into Testiny to access attachments and videos stored in Testiny.
Embedding a video file into the PDF report is currently not supported.

Best regards,
Hanna
