Ability to Customize Naming Conventions and Prefixes (e.g., TC, TP, etc.)

Hi everyone,

I would like to request a feature that would allow users to customize the naming conventions or ID prefixes used for different artifact types, such as Test Cases (TC), Test Plans (TP), and others.

Right now, the prefixes are fixed and cannot be adapted to project-, team-, or organization-specific standards.
Allowing customization would offer several advantages:

  • Alignment with internal naming conventions or compliance requirements

  • Easier integration with existing project documentation or legacy systems

  • Improved readability for teams using alternative naming schemes

  • More flexibility when managing large or cross-department test repositories

  • Clearer identification of artifact types based on user-defined prefixes

Ideally, the system would provide a configuration area to define custom prefixes (e.g. “TST”, “PLAN”, “SCENARIO”) or even allow complete custom naming templates.

Is such a customization feature currently on the roadmap?
Any information or potential workarounds would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your feedback!

This would actually be very nice! One might consider the possibility, of allowing a sort of “custom branding”, making it easier for companies to mirror their internal testing processes in testiny

Thanks for your suggestion!

This is currently not on our roadmap, but it’s now a feature request that the community can vote and comment on.

If somebody reads this request and would also like to have this feature, make sure to vote for this topic. We do consider the number of votes for feature requests in our roadmap and priority planning.

Best regards,
Alex
