Cursor behaviour in scrollable test step editor

Hey there,

I’m not sure if this is a bug or if it’s technically intended to work this way. Double-clicking in the test steps field allows you to edit them. If the test steps extend beyond the screen height (i.e., are scrollable), then the cursor will jump to the end of the test step editor.

As a user, I would find it way more convenient if the cursor would jump to the exact test step that I double-clicked.

Hi niko,

We revisited this issue again and had to fight mainly against Chrome which seems to be buggy with selection handling, but we think we found some workarounds.
The fix should be deployed with our next upcoming release v1.9.0, would love to get your feedback then. Thank you!

Best Regards,
Alex

Hi niko,

Yes, this is not really intuitive, I agree. We’ll look into this issue.

I remember that we already investigated on that some time ago, but hit a wall at the underlying editor framework. Maybe we have more luck now

Stay tuned, thanks!

Best Regards,
Alex
