Enhancing Filter Capabilities for Test Plans and Test Runs Through Additional Labels

Hi everyone,

I would like to propose an improvement to the current filtering options for Test Plans and Test Runs.
At the moment, the available filters are somewhat limited, which makes it difficult to efficiently organize or locate items in larger projects, especially when working with multiple teams or complex test structures.

Introducing custom labels/tags as additional filter criteria would offer several benefits:

  • Clearer categorization of Test Plans and Test Runs (e.g., by team, component, release, priority)

  • Faster navigation and improved searchability

  • Better tracking of large testing efforts across multiple streams

  • More flexibility for organizations with custom workflows or compliance needs

  • Reduction of manual sorting effort

Being able to assign and filter by user-defined labels would significantly streamline day-to-day work and improve overall test management efficiency.

Is this feature already under consideration, or are there any known alternatives to achieve similar functionality?

Thanks in advance for any information or suggestions!

Yes I was thinking about tags/labels for test runs and test plans

Thanks for your feedback!

Just to clarify: you’re thinking of tags/labels for test runs and test plans, not for test cases. Right?

If so, this is not on our roadmap, yet (in contrast to tags for test cases). Looking forward to the Testiny community to comment and vote on this feature

If anybody reads this request and would also like to have this feature, make sure to vote for this topic. We do consider the number of votes for feature requests in our roadmap and priority planning.

Best regards,
Alex
