Filter for Multi-Line Custom Field

Hi everyone,

I would like to report an issue with the filtering functionality for Multi-Text Custom Fields.
At the moment, filters applied to this field type do not work as expected, which makes it difficult to narrow down or locate relevant Test Cases based on these values.

This functionality is critically needed, especially in environments where Multi-Text fields are used to capture important metadata such as components, tags, responsibilities, or dependencies.

The lack of proper filtering leads to:

  • Inefficient searching and sorting of Test Cases

  • Additional manual effort to find relevant items

  • Reduced visibility into categorized or structured information

  • Workflow bottlenecks for teams relying heavily on custom data fields

Could you please confirm whether this issue is known and if a fix is already in progress or planned?
Any temporary workaround would also be greatly appreciated.

Yes of course we use this Multi-Text Custom Field for Automated Testing ID see Screenshot. If I want to use a Filter on this it does not exist.

Ahh, I thought you mean “Multi-select” custom fields, but you actually meant “Multi-line” text.
Yes, we do not support filters on any multi-line field, yet, it is on our feature wish list, though.

If anybody reads this request and would also like to have this feature, make sure to vote for this topic. We do consider the number of votes for feature requests in our roadmap and priority planning.
