Folder Structure for Test Plans and Test Runs

Hi everyone,

I would like to propose a feature that would significantly improve the organization and scalability of larger testing projects: introducing a folder structure for Test Plans and Test Runs.

At the moment, both Test Plans and Test Runs exist only in flat lists, which becomes difficult to manage once the number of items grows. A hierarchical folder system would provide several benefits:

  • Better organization of Test Plans and Test Runs by project, release, component, or team

  • Easier navigation, especially in large or long-running projects

  • Cleaner workspace and improved visibility of active vs. historical work

  • More efficient management of recurring or grouped testing efforts

  • A familiar structure aligned with how users already organize Test Cases

Ideally, the system would support:

  • Creating folders and subfolders

  • Drag-and-drop sorting and moving of items

  • Optional permissions or visibility per folder

  • Collapsible folder views for clarity

Is such a hierarchical folder structure planned, or is it already being considered for future updates?

Thanks in advance for any feedback or information!

Thanks for your feedback!

Folders or better structuring in the list of test runs is already on our feature request list. There’s also a forum topic for it already, so I suggest you vote for that topic and change this topic to “folders for Test Plans” only: Add folders to test runs

Folders in the test plans view is not currently on our roadmap, so I leave this topic here for others to vote for it.
As a workaround for now, you can e.g use prefixes in test plan names and then sort the test plans per title.

Best regards,
Alex
