What is the need?
Test results are important input to solve known issues. When using Testiny to run and document tests, this documentation needs to be transfered to the issue tracker (Jira, Redmine, …). Currently, this needs to be done manually which is a redundant and fault-prone task.
Already existing functionality
The “Link defect” function in Testiny already offers a way to link a test result to a known issue. This link then only exists in Testiny, but not in the issue tracker.
Proposed approach
When using the “Link defect” function, add a comment to the linked issue including the result information of the run test case and a link back to the Testiny test result. This behavior would be consistent with the “Create defect” function.
