Start Automated Test Case from Testiny

Hello everyone,

I would like to know if it is possible to start an automated test case directly from Testiny.

Our goal is to trigger automated tests from within Testiny and have the results linked back to the corresponding test cases.

Has anyone implemented a similar setup, or can you recommend the best approach for integrating automated test execution with Testiny?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Unfortunately, this is currently not possible. You cannot add a button (or similar) to the Testiny UI to trigger anything outside of Testiny.

If you could elaborate on your use case and where you would expect such a trigger, then I would turn this into a feature request.

Thank you!

Best regards,
Alex

Thank you for the clarification, Alex.

My ideal solution would be the ability to create dedicated test runs for automated tests and start them directly from Testiny via a button.

For example, it would be very useful if a test run could be linked to a CI/CD pipeline (e.g., a GitLab or GitHub pipeline) that is configured in the project settings. Clicking a “Run Automated Tests” button in Testiny could then trigger the pipeline and automatically import the results back into the corresponding test cases.

It would also be great to have the option to execute individual automated test cases in the same way, rather than always running the entire test suite.

This would make it much easier to manage manual and automated testing from a single place and keep test execution and reporting tightly integrated with Testiny.

Thank you for considering this as a feature request.

Thanks for the feedback and the use case!
So, I’m making this a feature request for others to vote on and leave their comments.

If somebody reads this request and also would like to have this feature, make sure to vote for this topic. We do consider the number of votes for feature requests in our roadmap and priority planning.

Best regards,
Alex
