Test-Assets/Configuration-Items Management

It would be helpful to document hardware Test-Assets/Configuration-Items which where used in an specific testrun.

For this purpose, the test equipment (CI’s) could be defined in a similar way to the test cases and then assigned/linked in a test run or even in the individual test cases within a test run.

A CI could be a specific device (e.g. router, network element, …) or a testport on a device.
Information like name, sw-release, hw-code etc. should be documented on the CIs.

This would not only help during test execution, but also in the subsequent traceability of a testrun/test case.

Thanks for your input!

We do have so-called “environment support” on our roadmap that would provide similar features as you described. Unfortunately, there’s no timeline when this feature will be tackled, yet.

As a workaround, you can use test test run description for now.

Anyway, I understand your feature request and leave it as a feature request for others to vote on it.

If somebody reads this request and would also like to have this feature, make sure to vote for this topic. We do consider the number of votes for feature requests in our roadmap and priority planning.

Best regards,
Alex
