Upload attachments/images via MCP

Please add attachment/image upload capability to MCP. Test case steps are much more understandable with images, and agents can do screenshotting/cropping very well via Playwright.

Technically this is already possible by via the API, but MCP makes little sense if the agent constantly needs to switch and drive the API in parallel.

Philosophical expansion:

On the long run all UI features should be MCP discoverable, and subjective hot take: it is more important to add features there than to add them on the UI or the REST API. I’m part of a small team where historically we had close to zero resources for QA. Now with AI we can finally cover our app with cases and automated testing, and Testiny is a really good compact platform for human oversight and control. Agents know the codebase, all the documentation, generate test cases, then scheduled test runners check PR and deployment envs (and report back to Testiny API), and humans can review if anything failed, and have a friendly UI to see which step went wrong and how to manually reproduce it. I guess tools as Testiny and its competitors were meant for QA teams and mostly human management, but leaning in the “small team with AI” use case would help a this type of customer base a lot.

Welcome to the Testiny forum and thank you for your feedback!

I fully understand the need to use screenshots and attachments with the MCP server.
We’re trying to improve and add features to the Testiny MCP server on a regular basis, this could be one in the future.

There’s a similar topic here with ideas on how to extend the Testiny MCP server. I still keep this feature request separate since it might be a bit more challenging from a technical point (binary data in an otherwise text based communication channel).

If somebody reads this request and also would like to have this feature, make sure to vote for this topic. We do consider the number of votes for feature requests in our roadmap and priority planning.

Best regards,
Alex
