Integrations

In the Integrations section, you can configure integrations with Testiny for requirements and defect management. Detailed descriptions on how to configure each tool can be found in the Integrations Documentation.

If you want to learn more about creating or linking defects and requirements, please see the section in the test management guide.

In the screenshot below, you first see all your configured integrations, and below that you see all available integrations. You can integrate with as many tools as you like, configure integrations only for specific projects or configure an integration only for requirements or defects. In this example, only one integration is configured and it is active for all projects and it is only enabled for defects. In Testiny, requirements can be linked to test cases and defects can be linked to test results or test runs.

"Integration settings"

When you add a new integration or edit an existing one, a side panel opens with two tabs, "Details" and "Projects". This view can look slightly different for each tool. The screenshots below show an example of a Jira Cloud integration.

"Integration settings for Jira Cloud"
"Integration project settings for Jira Cloud"

The "Details" tab (shown in the screenshot on the left) has two settings that are available for most tools:

  • Active
This is only available for configured integrations. If you want to disable an integration without deleting it, you can simply disable it by unchecking this option.
  • Read-only
This option is available for all full integrations. By default, integrations are configured as read and write. By checking this option you can make them read-only, i.e. you can only link requirements and defects, but you cannot create them directly from Testiny.

In the "Projects" tab, you can define the scope of the integration for:

  • Testiny Projects

    • All projects
By default, the integration is configured for all existing and future projects of your Testiny organization.
    • Only specific projects
If you want to configure an integration for specific Testiny projects only, select this option. Now you can select for which projects you want to enable this integration.
    • For defects, for requirements or for both
You can also define if you want to use this integration for defects only, for requirements only, or for both.
  • Projects of Integrated Tool (e.g. Jira projects)

    • All projects
By default, the integration is configured for all projects of the tool you’re integrating with.
    • Only specific projects
If you want to configure an integration for specific projects only, select this option. Now you can select which projects you want to enable this integration for.

For more details, please refer to the Integrations Documentation. We are also continously working on fully integrating new tools. Let us know if you’re interested in a particular integration and contact us via mail [email protected] or use Testiny’s built-in feedback system.
